Sleepy Dog Saloon and Brewery
Sleepy Dog is tapping their new Barley Wine—creatively called the St.
Bernard—today Monday, March 1st. It is a gentle amber giant, with an
alcohol (no, not wet) nose. It’s so big, we can only serve you a small
amount...10oz to be exact. And it won’t be around long—there are
mountain rescues to be made, you know. Come in and try it now!
Thursday, March 4
Papago Brewing: Grand Teton Specialty Beer Night John Lundholm and Rob Mullin of Grand Teton will be bringing to Papago a number of beers that will be one of a kind in Arizona that aren't normally distributed. Should be some excellent extreme type beers.
Friday, March 5
Papago Brewing: Nectar Ales Launch Party Come join Firestone Wlkers, Jennifer Hill, for the long awaited launch of Nectar Ales in Arizona. Nectar Ales is owned by Firestone Walker and produces top quality beer from Humboldt County in California. We're getting the exact pour list from Jennifer which we will be posting on Fcebook and Twitter once it arrives. We understand that the only 2 cases of Black Xantus will available.
From Rate Beer 97 Black Xantus is a rare bird and the first new release from Nectar Ales in Years. It is the First ever “big-beer” to be re- leased under the Nectar Ales line. Barrel aged for 6 months in combination of Bourbon, retired Firestone Union and wine barrels and Infused with fair-trade, organic coffee from local roaster Jobella. Rich bourbon and coffee aromas greet the senses. Complex chocolate and tobacco flavors fill the palate. This beer displays a full-bodied mouth-feel and an overall balanced presentation. It would be a perfect pairing to rich chocolate desserts.

Commercial and Homebrewed as well. Almost 50 members took advantage of the early discount on 2010 membership renewals! If you were unable to attend be sure to make the January general meeting as that will be the only time that $20 memberships will be available. They will go up to $30 afterwards.
Elections were held and congratulations to the 2010 Board Members.
