It's about that time again! The 2009 ASH Springfest is scheduled for April 4th, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm at The Lakes Beach & Tennis Club, 5501 S Lakeshore Dr, Tempe (Map)

This event is always a great time for those who attend and the weather should be great for drinking fine homebrewed beers. Thanks go to Barry Tingleff for reserving the location at the Lakes Beach & Tennis Club. Once again we will have Marty Gibson of Barbeque Magic bringing his skills and fine spread of BBQ and fixings! If you've missed the event in the past, plan to attend. You missed a great time!

Prizes will be awarded to the brewers in the following categories :

• Best Named
• Best Beer Overall

There is a pool for anyone who would like to bring their suits and swim. It should be noted that there is no lifeguard on duty so parental supervision is required with children.

There will be boat rides available around the lake between 1 and 3 pm.

ASH members are encouraged to bring some homebrew to share.

This year Stevo will be defending his title as Champion of the 'Kaptin's Kup!' The Kaptin's Kup award is given to the brewer who produces the best Kölsch in honor of the passing of longtime ASH member Mark Helms. Kölsch was Mark Helms's favorite beer style. This will be an annual prize.
